• Float Requirement: May float to similar acuity units and other areas within the organization as needed
• Patient Population: Postpartum patients, healthy newborns, and NAS infants
• Unit Environment: 40-bed inpatient postpartum unit with family-centered care

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• IV certification required
• Experience with IV starts and labor & delivery care
• Proficiency with EPIC charting preferred
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills; EKG competency required prior to start
• Experience supporting postpartum, newborn, and couplet care populations
• Ability to work night shifts and provide weekend coverage
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical setting
• Two professional references required, including at least one from leadership or supervisory level

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns
• Support vaginal delivery recovery and C-section recovery patients
• Perform newborn assessments and monitor healthy newborns and NAS infants
• Deliver patient and family education on breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge teaching, and postpartum recovery
• Administer medications and treatments including IV therapies, blood products, and postpartum-related interventions as ordered
• Monitor and document fundus, lochia, perineum, incision care, and other postpartum assessments
• Assist with couplet care to promote safe, family-centered outcomes for mother and baby
• Recognize and respond to postpartum complications such as hemorrhage, preeclampsia, and wound infection
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, compassionate patient care
• Float to similar units as needed while maintaining safe, effective nursing practice
