Must-Have: Must exhibit excellent communication skills. Ability to function independently and under pressure. Exhibit excellent customer service skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask. Description: Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to the patient. Performs all exams according to department procedures. Has the knowledge and ability to obtain a quality diagnostic study safely. Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures. Able to independently perform job functions. Sets up the equipment to provide imaging service. Positions patients for the procedure. Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data, and assesses for contraindicating conditions. Follows established procedures for the administration of contrast media. Ensures that all studies have proper patient identification. Reviews images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients. Responds to emergency situations. Assists other technologists in all modalities when needed. Observes patient conditions and evaluates situations when physician intervention is necessary. Verifies correct identity of the patient prior to performing a procedure. Ensures patient privacy and comfort is accommodated. Maintains patient's dignity throughout the exam/procedure. Demonstrates competence in determining and applying appropriate procedures. Organizes schedule, time, and priorities. Follows physician's instructions when assisting with procedures and exams. Understands and documents pre-procedure verification. Demonstrates and understands pre-and post-procedural care. Prepares the patient for procedure. Demonstrates and understands sterile technique. Prepares trays and catheters for procedures. Demonstrates the ability to adjust technique for optimal imaging results. Reports problems regarding malfunctioning equipment. Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment in accordance with infection control policies. Ability to operate patient monitoring systems. Patiently and clearly explains the purpose and nature of exams to patients. Ensures that patient questions and concerns are addressed. Participates in the orientation and training of departmental employees. Required documentation is concise and legible. Reads emails daily and follows through with assignments. Completes mandatory departmental and education without prompting. Produces acceptable images, follows established exam protocols. Ensures equipment is fully operational prior to use. Maintains a safe environment within the MRI suite. Restocks linens and supplies. Transports and positions patients. Performs patient charging activities on the day services are rendered. Applies supportive and immobilization devices and equipment. Willingly lends knowledge and assistance to others upon request. Performs routine duties of clerical and support personnel when warranted. Keeps supervisor informed on all responsibilities. Maintains an individual productivity rate equal to co-workers. Ability to operate all workstations associated with the MRI scanner. Maintains Joint Commission standards and any other regulatory agency standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all applicable policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
