Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: MRI Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 11:30 AM - 12:00 AM; Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in a hospital or clinical setting preferred License: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) from ARRT or ARMRIT required Certifications: State licensure required if in New Mexico, BLS required via AHA Description: The MRI Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. The Technologist will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. The role will help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The MRI Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed. The Technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance and participate in quality assurance. They will resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. The expectation is to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The incumbent must be able to provide basic MRI screening of patients and employees. They will prepare maintenance and repairs and participate in quality assurance. The Technologist will resolve issues related to MRI safety. They will adhere to and maintain the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture. The Technologist will meet expectations of applicable competencies and demonstrate adherence to core values. They will maintain consistency with departmental policies related to behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability. The role promotes staff growth, development, and employee engagement by collaborating with management and coworkers. The Technologist will provide meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians to promote exceptional physician satisfaction. Duties will be performed in a manner that protects patient confidentiality. They will adapt assigned patient assessment and treatment methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient served. The Technologist ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care deemed appropriate by regulatory entities. They will perform examinations and procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within their scope of licensure, certification, and documented competencies. Flexibility is required by working other shifts and possibly at other campuses as needed. The Technologist ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in the PACS. They must have the ability to follow PACS downtime procedures and escalate any issues to the PACS administrator or designee if needed. They will troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or biomedical personnel, performing appropriate follow-up. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
