The department has one GE 1.5T scanner. No floating or covering of other areas is required. Average number of scans performed is 30 in a 24-hour period. The department utilizes Epic and Synapse PACS for managing imaging studies. The lead tech or supervisor is responsible for overseeing the department. Radiologists are available both in-house and online. IV starts are required in this department. The shift schedule typically consists of three 10-hour nights, every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and every other Thursday. Call is required typically one night per week and one weekend per month. Scrub color/dress code includes black pants and a royal blue top. Weekend and holiday requirements are included in the schedule. The cancellation policy allows for the cancellation of up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system used in this department is EPIC.
