Job Title: MRI Technologist Profession: MRI Tech Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 8.5 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) from the ARRT or ARMRIT Certifications: BLS required (AHA only) Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted equivalent required. Basic computer experience required. Description: The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures. The technologist will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed. The technologist will help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The MRI Technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in quality assurance, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. There is an expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The incumbent must be able to provide basic MRI screening of patients and employees. They will prepare maintenance and repairs, participate in quality assurance, and resolve issues related to MRI safety. The technologist will adhere to and maintain the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture. The incumbent will demonstrate adherence to the core values of the organization. The technologist will promote exceptional physician satisfaction by providing meaningful assistance to radiologists and referring physicians. They will perform all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients. The technologist will not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless necessary in the performance of assigned job duties. They must appropriately adapt assigned patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient served. The technologist ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care as deemed appropriate by state and federal agencies, the organization, and other regulatory entities. They will perform examinations and procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the manager's licenses, certifications, and documented competencies. Demonstrating flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses is expected as needed or required. The incumbent will ensure completed exams are scanned and stored correctly. They must be able to follow downtime procedures and escalate any problems or issues as needed. The technologist will troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions to the director or manager and/or biomedical personnel and will perform appropriate follow-up. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
