The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role prioritizes patient safety, accurate imaging, and strict adherence to MRI safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiography (R) or MRI (MR) required
MRI certification (ARRT-MR) preferred
Valid state license in GA
Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationn
Responsibilities:
Perform MRI scans based on physician orders and established imaging protocols
Conduct thorough patient screening to identify contraindications (e.g., implants, devices, metal exposure)
Prepare and position patients to ensure comfort, safety, and optimal image quality
Administer contrast agents as required and monitor for any adverse reactions
Operate MRI equipment and adjust technical parameters for high-quality imaging
Evaluate images for clarity and diagnostic quality before submission to radiologists
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
Adhere to MRI safety standards, infection control, and radiation-free safety protocols
Respond to emergency situations and ensure patient well-being during procedures
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
Perform routine equipment checks and report any malfunctions
