Experience: 1-2 years, outpatient experience accepted with a strong exam mix skill set.
License: No state license required for MRI techs.
Certifications: BLS, ARRT-MR or ARMRI.
Must-Have:
Basic MR principles and practices.
Comfort with MR safety practices.
Good screening habits and ability to follow policies for implant workup.
Peripheral IV starts with IV contrast injection skills.
Knowledge of implant workup.
Experience with Siemens 1.5T and 3T.
Soft skills including good communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and being a good team player.
Description:
This position involves providing MRI services to both inpatient and outpatient populations.
The primary focus will be on an adult population, with pediatric patients only if they can cooperate and hold still.
The work will involve a variety of scans including prostate, abdomen, pelvis, MRCP, extremities, brain, and spine.
Less common scans may be avoided on weekends unless the technologist has strong comfort with them.
Support will be provided by department supervisors and imaging patient assistants.
Typically, there will be two techs and one patient assistant scheduled each shift.
Virtual radiologist support is available 24/7, with communication primarily through phone or messaging platforms.
Outpatients will be escalated to a first response team, while inpatient and emergency department cases will be handled by a rapid response team.
The charting system used is EPIC with equipment including Siemens Sola 1.5T and Siemens Skyra 3T scanners.
The unit utilizes AI software to help reduce scan times.
There are expectations for weekend rotations and on-call duties, with a response time requirement.
One holiday coverage is required during the contract period.
Scrub colors are adaptable.
