Description:
This facility is a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center.
It has a total of 74 beds.
The patient types include inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department patients in need of MRI services.

MRI capabilities include:
3T for prostate, abdomen, pelvis, and MRCP procedures.
1.5T for extremity, brain, and spine scans.
Less common scans are typically avoided on weekends unless the technologist is comfortable performing them.
The department is supported by a dedicated supervisor.
An imaging patient assistant/transporter is available on weekends to assist with changing patients, patient screening, and other auxiliary tasks.
Typically, there are 2 MRI technologists and 1 imaging patient assistant scheduled for each shift.
There is a lead technologist available Monday through Friday, while weekend staff work independently.
Radiologist support is available 24/7, primarily through virtual communication.
Emergency response teams are mobilized for both outpatient and inpatient scenarios as needed.
The charting system in use is EPIC, with imaging conducted on Siemens Sola 1.5T and Siemens Skyra 3T scanners.
Deep Resolve AI software is utilized to aid in reducing scan times.
The schedule includes a rotation of weekend shifts once per month for non-weekend roles and every weekend for weekend roles.
On-call expectations are managed through a department rotation with a 30-minute response time.
Contracted personnel are required to cover one holiday during their contract period, with on-call coverage for 24 hours on holidays.
