Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Local Pay Rate: $70/hr on w2 (Without Benefits)

We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join the Radiology team. The MRI Technologist will operate and prepare specialized MRI equipment, perform magnetic imaging procedures, and use appropriate technical judgment to obtain high-quality diagnostic studies according to established protocols and patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MRI imaging procedures according to established protocols.
• Position patients and MRI coils appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic studies.
• Educate patients about MRI procedures, the area being imaged, and any necessary instructions.
• Review the patient safety questionnaire before allowing patients into the MRI scan room.
• Ensure MRI images are accurately labeled according to department SOPs.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and transmit completed images to PACS in a timely manner.
• Complete studies and maintain required information in the IDX Radiology Information System.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of MRI rooms and equipment.
• Maintain required supplies and accessories needed to safely perform MRI procedures.
• Accurately record patient tracking information and schedule exams in IDX as required.
• Report equipment problems, repairs, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist physicians as required.
• Follow strict MRI safety procedures to prevent ferromagnetic materials from entering the scan room.
• Follow infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself.
• Attend required in-services and professional development meetings.
• Maintain required licensure and comply with applicable professional standards.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT/JCERT-approved Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology / L.R.T.
• ARRT certification.
• ARRT MRI registry.
• BCLS certification.
• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, physical sciences, and MRI physics.
• Excellent technical and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide safe, patient-focused MRI services.
