    Description: MRI Technologist ? About Facility: o 8800 N. Tryon St. Charlotte, NC 28262 o 130 Licensed Beds o Stroke Center o Not Trauma designated o Not a teaching hospital o Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit ? Unit Information: o Beds: 1 ? Census? Average patients/day? 25-30 in 24h o Minimum Years of Experience required? 1 year MRI experience minimum, will accept acute or outpatient o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes ? Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o 5-year-old geriatric. Peds done during the day. Could see infant from NICU that has suspected brain bleed (rare). o Stroke, internal auditory canal (IAC), pituitary, feet, abdomen, brains, total spines, defecography, urograms, enterography. Devices on Wednesdays during the day, devices for Medtronic 24h. ? Required License, National Certification, Certs: o BLS, ARRT-MR ? Skills required: o Experience with above patient types, setting up suction, operating O2, understanding MRI safety and understanding what can and cannot go into the bore with patient, handling critical/vented patients (ICU RN and RT will accompany patient), placing patients on MR tele, administering contrast. o Soft skills: critical thinking, comfortable caring for confused patients, being punctual! o If position is for Nights, will be working as solo MRI Tech with MRI assistant o IV skills if position is for Days ? Support within the Department: o Transporter until 2300 o MRI Assistant for days/nights o Lead MRI Tech during the day, available via phone at night if needed o Manager during day shift hours o Scheduler will schedule day shift outpatients o Radiologist offsite reading 24/7 o RT 24/7 o Hospitalist 24/7 o Rapid Response/Code Team ? Technology/Equipment: o EMR: EPIC preferred o IV Pump: Medirad MRI IV pump o PACS: ViewPACS o Unit specific equipment: GE Cigna Artist 1.5, MR 400 tele monitor ? Floating: If yes, where? o No ? Orientation (facility and unit): o NEO o If position is for Nights, will have 1 week of days and 1 week of nights of unit orientation. o If position is for Days, will have up to 3 weeks of unit orientation ? Scheduling: o Weekend rotation: dependent requisition o On call? Yes ? 1 weekend per month ? Friday night Monday morning ? 1 hour response time o Holiday Expectations: every other holiday o Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 7 days o Shift times: dependent on requisition o Schedule cycle: will be on set schedule ?
