Under immediate to general supervision, delivers entry-level specialized radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations to aid in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of conditions and diseases.
Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician-ordered procedures.
Utilizes specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a range of diagnostic procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
Conducts post-procedure review to confirm all required elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality meets department protocols and applicable accreditation standards.
Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, enters technical findings, and prepares studies for physician reporting.
Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and user maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a cardiovascular specialty, OR graduate of a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in radiologic technology.
Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for CT Certification (ARRT), to be achieved within 12 months of hire date.
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Ability to apply principles of radiologic technology including medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, multi-task, and remain calm in stressful situations.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology as it relates to CT and radiologic technology.
