Under immediate to general supervision, delivers specialized MRI and radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations to aid in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions.
Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician-ordered procedures.
Utilizes specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
Conducts post-procedure review to confirm all required elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality meets department protocols and applicable accreditation standards.
Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems and prepares studies for physician reporting.
Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and user maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program with emphasis in a cardiovascular specialty, OR graduate of a JRCERT-accredited program with emphasis in radiologic technology.
Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for MRI Certification; certification must be achieved within 12 months of hire date.
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Ability to apply principles of radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and patient positioning.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and maintain accurate records with attention to detail.
Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information and remain calm in stressful or emergent situations.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology relevant to MRI and radiologic technology specialties.
