Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
• ARRT certification in MRI (ARRT-MR) required, or ARRT (R) with MRI eligibility per facility policy
• State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
• BLS certification required
• 1+ years of MRI experience preferred (varies by facility)
• IV certification/venipuncture skills often required

Duties:

• Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams per physician orders, selecting appropriate protocols for diagnostic quality
• Screen patients and staff for MRI safety, identifying contraindications (implants, devices, metal, pregnancy)
• Prepare and administer contrast media as ordered, monitoring for adverse reactions
• Position patients accurately and operate MRI equipment/coils to optimize image quality
• Maintain strict adherence to MRI safety zones and protocols to prevent injury
• Document exams and maintain accurate records in RIS/PACS systems
• Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians on imaging findings and protocol needs
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with service engineers as needed
