Job Summary:
A Radiology MRI Technologist position is available in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves operating GE MRI scanners at 1.5 Tesla and 3 Tesla strengths, ensuring MRI safety procedures, starting IVs, and following standard acquisition sequences. The technologist will work in an acute care setting, covering outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department patients with scheduled rotating shifts.
Job Details:
- Location: Peoria, Illinois, United States
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, with start times at 6:00 AM, 2:00 PM, or 10:00 PM, totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS (AHA), RTR (Registered Radiology Technologist); minimum 2 years of experience operating GE MRI scanners at 1.5T and 3T, knowledge of MRI safety guidelines, IV starting skills, familiarity with EMR & PACS systems (Epic), and department-specific equipment (GE)
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with MRI assistance staff and MRI safety protocols
- Additional Information: The position requires float coverage for outpatient, inpatient, and emergency patients. A one-week department-specific orientation on GE scanner type may be necessary based on familiarity. Weekend work is required once per month; holiday work may be required with possible standby or call duties. Scrubs are not provided; candidates must wear standard solid-colored scrubs and cover tattoos as per dress code.
