Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of MRI experience and current ARRT-MR certification.

Details

• MRI unit at a stroke center with 1 bed and an average of 25-30 patients per 24 hours
• Patient population ranges from age 5 to geriatric, with pediatric imaging done during the day and rare NICU infant cases with suspected brain bleed
• Common procedures include stroke imaging, IAC, pituitary, feet, abdomen, brain, total spine, defecography, urograms, and enterography studies
• Device implants performed Wednesdays during the day, with Medtronic device support available 24/7
• 10-hour night shifts, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Works as solo MRI Tech overnight with support from an MRI Assistant
• No floating required
• On-call rotation of 1 weekend per month (Friday night through Monday morning) with a 1-hour response time
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• EPIC EMR preferred
• Uses ViewPACS, Medirad MRI IV pump, GE Cigna Artist 1.5, and MR 400 tele monitor

Requirements

• Active MRI license required if applicable
• BLS and ARRT-MR certification required; ARMRIT not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience, acute or outpatient setting accepted
• Skilled in MRI safety protocols, patient positioning, suction setup, and O2 operation
• Experience handling critical or vented patients alongside ICU RN and RT support
• Ability to place patients on MR tele monitoring and administer contrast
• Strong critical thinking skills and comfort caring for confused or pediatric patients
• Punctuality and reliability required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• At least one professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Support team includes a Lead MRI Tech, MRI Assistant, Manager, Scheduler, offsite Radiologist, RT, Hospitalist, and Rapid Response/Code team
• Transporter support available until 11:00 PM
• Orientation includes NEO plus 1 week of day shift and 1 week of night shift unit orientation for night positions
• Set schedule cycle with up to 7 days of RTO approval
• Black scrub color required
• Free parking available
• Radius rule requires candidates to live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position
