Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift float pool position at a teaching hospital requiring 2 years of experience and IV/telemetry skills.

• MS/Tele Float Pool position at a teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• 13-week assignment
• Float required within the health system
• Some weekends and holidays required
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• IV start and telemetry monitoring skills required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and PICC line care, blood product administration required
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience required
• Isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac experience required
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide care to Med/Surg and Telemetry patients, including orthopedic, neurological, and renal cases
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and heparin/IV insulin protocols
• Support rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements urgently upon signing contract
• Candidates located outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location soon after booking
• Candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete promptly
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible to return as travelers after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
