Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float position requiring 2 years of recent experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Float required within skillset and acuity level
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Cerner charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and PICC line management required
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and ABG interpretation required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and neurological conditions (CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury) required
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and renal/dialysis management required
• Prior charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide care for a Med/Surg Tele patient population with cardiovascular, renal, orthopedic, and neurological conditions
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Facility-specific compliance modules must be completed within one week of signing the contract
• Labs and drug screening appointments must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed
