Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Olympia, WA | 13-Week Contract

Travel RN Job Details

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,860
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3 shifts per week
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Typical Assignment Ratio: Approximately 1:4–6, depending on unit acuity
- Charting System: Epic
- Float Requirement: Flexibility to support multiple inpatient units based on organizational needs
- Weekend Coverage: Required
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience, including at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience
- Previous charge nurse experience is required
- Recent U.S. clinical experience is required
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Washington; compact license must be active and in hand when applicable
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Recent experience with cardiac telemetry, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Epic electronic health record charting experience
- Ability to provide nursing care across medical-surgical, telemetry, and emergency department overflow settings
- Comfort working with isolation precautions, oxygen via nasal cannula, and changing patient acuity
- Ability to provide two professional references covering at least one year of employment within the last three years
- Flexibility to work three of five designated holidays during the contract period
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across medical-surgical and telemetry units
- Float to areas such as telemetry, medical-surgical units, and emergency department overflow according to patient-care needs
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory services, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, IV teams, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
- Manage patient assignments while maintaining a focus on safety, prioritization, and appropriate escalation of care
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned, including staffing coordination, bed flow, and general unit operations
- Support a collaborative team environment and adapt effectively to varying unit workflows and acuity levels
