Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float RN for a Magnet teaching hospital float pool, requiring 2 years of experience with Level II trauma exposure and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute Care Float Pool position within a Level 4 trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Unit covers medical, surgical, medical tele, surgical tele, infusion, ortho, and neurosurgery patient populations
• Patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5
• 3x12 hour Day (7:00-19:30) or Night (19:00-7:30) shift options
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital, within scope of practice
• No floating to sister hospitals
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Completion of Compliance Relias EKG tele test required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills needed include respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care), IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, and wound care
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin protocols, and post cardiac cath care preferred
• Two professional references required, preferably supervisory

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of med/surg and telemetry populations, including CVA, renal, and substance withdrawal cases
• Responsible for interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and responding to rapid response/code team activations
• Scrubs may be any color, with scrubs provided for OR personnel
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers may be considered pending manager screening
• Prior UW Medical Center staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a travel candidate
• RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 1 week allowed
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no mileage radius restriction
