Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for a night shift assignment requiring Trauma Level II experience and current CA RN licensure.

Details

• Float to multiple MS/Tele and MS units within scope of practice
• Patient population includes Med/Surg and Telemetry cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1930-0730
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in neurological and psychiatric care including CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with ortho trauma, total joint replacement, and renal/dialysis management
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple Med/Surg and Telemetry units as part of a float pool team
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning to this facility
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
