Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float position requiring Trauma Level II experience and CA licensure.

Details

• Float pool position covering multiple MS/Tele and MS units within scope of practice
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and airway management
• IV therapy skills including central line, peripheral line, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code teams
• Experience with neuro/psych conditions including CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE
• Experience with orthopedic trauma and total joint replacement care
• Experience with renal/dialysis management
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units as part of a float pool team
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday off may be requested per contract
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff or travelers must have a separation period of at least 1 year before returning
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
