Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of high-acuity telemetry experience and 1:6 patient ratio proficiency.

Details

• Work in a mixed high-acuity Med/Surg Tele unit combining Cardiac Tele and PCU patient populations
• 13-week assignment with day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• 1:6 patient ratio required
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Uses Meditech charting system
• No block scheduling accommodations available
• Mandatory clinical orientation week requiring 5 shifts (36-40 hours)

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg Tele, Cardiac Tele, or PCU setting required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required (1:5 experience considered if clearly documented)
• Rapid Response team experience required
• Total joint replacement experience required
• Meditech charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care in a high-acuity mixed unit including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and post-surgical care
• Care for patients with conditions including CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and orthopedic trauma
• Perform skills such as central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and wound care
• Any scrub color permitted
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility
• No remote time off (RTO) permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
• Total RTO limited to no more than 10 days, with a 2-week extension added to the assignment if RTO is requested
• Holiday coverage required: 1 evening and 1 holiday shift if 1-2 holidays fall within the assignment, or 1 evening and 2 holiday shifts if 3 holidays fall within the assignment
• Facility reserves the right to make schedule changes up to 48 hours before a scheduled shift
