Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) in Columbia, SC. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on providing exceptional care to patients aged 65 and older in the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit. With a commitment to preserving cognitive and physical function, you will play a crucial role in helping patients return to their pre-admission baseline.

Position Overview:

• Years of Experience Required: 1 year
• Charting: 1 year of EPIC experience required
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other
• Call Off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Locals Accepted: Yes, refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria
• Pending License Accepted: No, must have an active SC or multistate license

Required Certifications:

• BLS, ACLS

Required Clinical Skills:

• MS/Tele experience
• IV starts, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation & management, remote telemetry monitoring
• Heparin protocols, telemetry-capable care
• Proficient in geriatric-focused care

Unit Details:

• Ratios: 1:5
• Patient Population: The ACE unit has 26 beds and provides telemetry-capable care for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older, focusing on mobility, recovery, and reducing length of stay.
• Floating: Agency staff may be required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies.
