Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry, specifically in Orthopedic care. This role will involve providing care for adult patients post-operative from spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective pain management and support physical therapy interventions on a telemetry-capable unit.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive and efficient nursing care to patients in the orthopedic spine unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, vital signs, and telemetry data.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and pain management specialists.
- Educate and support patients and families regarding care plans and recovery processes.
- Assist with special procedures such as bedside lumbar punctures and post-surgical care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical and Telemetry setting.
- Active RN license in South Carolina or a multistate license.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- 1 year of experience with EPIC charting system is required.
- Must possess experience in orthopedic care.
