Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring strong telemetry and Rapid Response experience with a 1:6 patient ratio background.

Details

• Work in a high-acuity mixed Med/Surg-Tele, Cardiac Tele, and PCU unit within an acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope
• No block scheduling permitted
• Mandatory 5 shifts (36-40 hours) for clinical orientation the first week
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg Tele, Cardiac Tele, or PCU setting required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required (1:5 experience considered if clearly documented)
• Strong telemetry experience required
• Rapid Response team experience required
• Total joint replacement experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience required

Additional Information

• Provide care in a mixed, high-acuity unit including cardiac telemetry, PCU/stepdown, and general Med/Surg Tele patients
• Work alongside Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Manage patients with cardiac dysrhythmias, requiring interpretation and monitoring
• Care for orthopedic patients, including total joint replacement and ortho trauma cases
• Skilled in wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV therapy
• Scrub color is not restricted
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
• Must complete required training modules (approximately 4+ hours) prior to start date
• Holiday coverage required: 1 evening and 1 holiday shift if 1-2 holidays fall within the assignment; 1 evening and 2 holiday shifts if 3 holidays fall within the assignment
• Must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to qualify for travel positioning
• No RTO permitted during the first or last week of the assignment
• First-time travelers not specified as accepted or excluded
