Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit, requiring 1+ year of MS/Tele experience and EPIC EMR proficiency.

Details

• 26-bed Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit providing telemetry-capable care for patients aged 65 and older
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend required
• Assignment length options of 13 or 26 weeks
• Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to areas of demonstrated competency

Requirements

• Active SC or compact multistate RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele nursing experience required
• 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Proficient in geriatric-focused care
• Skilled in IV starts, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, remote telemetry monitoring, and Heparin protocols
• 2 years of specialty experience required for first-time travelers

• Provide telemetry-capable nursing care to elderly hospitalized patients, focusing on preserving cognitive and physical function to support return to baseline
• Work alongside specially trained Geriatric Resource Nurses within a multidisciplinary care team
• Located within a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and regional teaching hospital
• First-time travelers welcome to apply with required specialty experience
• Local candidates accepted, subject to radius rule criteria
• Orientation held every Monday, with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
