Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital position requiring SC or compact RN license and at least 2 years of MS/Tele experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on unit need
• Floating required to other units and campuses based on census needs, limited to competencies already demonstrated
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Epic for documentation
• Must be able to pass an EKG exam and complete core competency modules due to floating possibilities

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in MS/Tele required (3 years required for first-time travelers)
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and PICC/peripheral line care
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, tracheostomy care, and oral suctioning
• GI and GU care skills including colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and PCA medications
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg unit with telemetry monitoring responsibilities
• Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Orientation held every Monday, with annual compliance training required
• First-time travelers may be considered based on experience level
• Must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible, with limited exceptions for night shift specialties requiring at least 50 miles from the contracted campus
• Wound care and wound vac experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
