Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2+ years of experience for a day shift position requiring SC or compact RN license and tele competency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the MS/Tele unit
• Level III Trauma facility
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7a-7:30p
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license must be in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team participation
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, tracheostomy management, and oxygen administration
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Support patients with CVA, renal failure, wound care needs, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery
• Royal blue scrubs required
• No cost parking provided
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for the position; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted but are not guaranteed
