Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position on a locked incarcerated hospital unit, requiring comfort working with the prison population.

Details

• Position located on a locked incarcerated unit of the hospital
• Med/Surg Tele patient population
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Float required to other Med/Surg Tele units, including forensics, inpatient units, and potentially ICU
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Strict no-call policy in place

Requirements

• Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response skills required
• Experience managing dysrhythmias preferred
• Oncology and chemotherapy administration experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working with an incarcerated patient population

• Provide nursing care within a forensic/correctional healthcare environment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO will not be approved for the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Contract nurses will be expected to work 3 of the 6 restricted holidays based on assigned holiday group, with schedule swaps possible among peers
• Contracts starting in September should extend into the new year to ensure holiday coverage
