Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring comfort working with a prison population and float flexibility across units.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:00
• 16-week assignment length
• Float required to other MS/Tele units, including forensics and inpatient units
• Must be comfortable working with the prison population
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• CPI certification required (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Skilled in cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Tele unit, including monitoring and responding to cardiac telemetry alerts
• Contract nurses are expected to participate in holiday rotation, working 3 of 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) based on assigned holiday group
• Schedule swaps with peers may be arranged to accommodate personal holiday preferences
• RTO requests for the listed holidays will not be approved for contracts beginning in September
• Contracts starting in September should extend into the new year to ensure holiday coverage
• Local and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate
• Facility enforces a strict no-call policy
