Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Trauma Level II experience and prior travel contract experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Observation unit caring for chest pain rule-out and cardiac patients
• Supports the ED by holding patients when the hospital is at capacity
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• No floating required unless otherwise agreed upon during interview or offer

Requirements

• Active RN license (Montana or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• At least one prior travel contract required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Cardiac and telemetry skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias preferred
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips preferred
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care experience
• References required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care to chest pain rule-out and cardiac patients in an observation unit setting
• Support emergency department overflow by managing held patients
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• First-time travelers will not be considered as this is a float unit
• Former permanent employees must have a 2-year break in service before eligibility
• Candidates with license or background check hits may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Gyn/Onc surgery experience is a plus
