Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule, from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced Medical/Surgical unit. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of travel experience. The unit is focused on providing high-quality care to patients with complex GI conditions, blood loss, anemia, infections, and post-surgical needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support to a diverse patient population.
• Monitor vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
• Perform IV starts and manage blood products.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Ensure proper telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms.
• Float to other medical and surgical units as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience; 1 year of travel experience preferred.
• Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring is advantageous.
