Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Travelers Rest, SC

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680–$1,770
- Assignment Type: 13-week Registered Nurse travel contract
- Location: Travelers Rest, South Carolina, near Greenville
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 25, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Healthcare Setting: LTAC Medical-Surgical/Telemetry
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Typical Assignment: Approximately 1:5 patient ratio
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend; schedule may vary based on unit needs
- Floating: Required to qualified units or nearby campuses based on census and staffing needs
- Charting System: Epic; Omnicell medication system
Med/Surg Tele RN Job Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
- At least 1 year of recent nursing experience in LTAC Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, or PCU settings
- At least 1 year of recent experience using Epic electronic health records
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Demonstrated ability to care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, telemetry interpretation, and clinical communication skills
- Flexibility to float to units where qualifications and documented competencies are applicable
- Previous travel nursing experience is not required; qualified first-time travel nurses may be considered
Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients in an LTAC Medical-Surgical/Telemetry environment
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, blood products, IV therapies, insulin protocols, and other prescribed treatments
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, Foley catheters, and other complex equipment as indicated
- Care for patients with conditions including stroke, CHF, renal failure, respiratory disease, pulmonary embolism, GI bleeding, wounds, and post-MI complications
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, stroke scale evaluations, blood glucose monitoring, and ongoing patient reassessments
- Support ventilator care, suctioning, weaning, oxygen therapy, and collaboration with respiratory services
- Coordinate care with physicians, rehabilitation services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Accurately document patient care, assessments, and clinical findings in Epic
- Promote infection prevention, patient safety, patient education, and continuity of care
