Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a CA RN license, 2+ years of experience, and prior travel nursing experience at a Magnet, Level II Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to other ICU/Tele units as well as MS/Tele
• Cerner charting system used
• Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with a Level II Trauma Center and 412 staffed beds
• No specific scheduling requests accommodated

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, though candidates with strong experience and less time may be considered
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though candidates with strong experience may be considered
• Skills required: respiratory care, care of ventilated patients, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• ICU and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• DOB, RTO, valid state license, certification copies, references, and COVID vaccination status required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Strict dress code enforced: no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair colors, visible piercings other than earlobe studs, and all tattoos must be covered
• No specific scrub color required, but camouflage or character patterns not permitted
• Free parking available
• Orientation includes facility modules averaging 3-6 hours depending on specialty
• Up to 5 days of RTO permitted, with 1 approved holiday off
• Three missed shifts may result in cancellation of the assignment
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
