Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital, requiring CA RN license, 2 years of MS/Tele experience and stroke patient care background.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within an acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level II Trauma Center status
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to any MS/Tele units based on facility need
• Cerner charting system used, prior experience preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required, with Telemetry experience preferred
• Stroke patient care experience required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• ICU/ED experience and ventilator management/conscious sedation skills preferred
• Strong travel experience considered in lieu of standard requirements

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Strict dress code enforced: no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair colors, visible piercings beyond earlobes, or hoop earrings; all tattoos must be covered
• Scrubs of any color accepted except camouflage or character patterns
• Orientation includes facility modules averaging 3-6 hours depending on specialty
• RTO requests must be submitted prior to being offered the position, with up to 5 days of RTO and 1 approved holiday off
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
