Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring MD or compact license, 2 years of experience, and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit in a hospital setting
• Care of orthopedic and cardiac telemetry patients with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:00) or Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:00) available
• Will not rotate between day and night shifts within the same week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required
• Uses Pyxis medication system
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact)
• Current BLS certification
• 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Central line care/management, PICC line management, and heparin protocol experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Ortho trauma and total joint replacement experience preferred
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Care for orthopedic and cardiac telemetry patients requiring close monitoring and emergency response
• Ceil Blue scrubs required, not provided by facility
• Flu vaccine required for all employees
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed
