Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring stroke/telemetry experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit caring for a diverse patient population with multiple co-morbidities, specializing in stroke (neuro) patients
• 1:5-1:6 nurse to patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Required to float between all Cone Health facilities
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
• Experience with feeding tube care and management
• Experience accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with CVA and nasal cannula care
• Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
• Current driver's license required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, with no local rates offered
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
