Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring EKG competency and NC/compact licensure.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit primarily caring for Med/Surg patients with telemetry capability
• Patient population includes observation, respiratory conditions, general medical surgical diagnoses, palliative/end of life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes, and surgical/surgical observation patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required across all Cone Health facilities as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
• LTAC experience preferred
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Skills preferred include BiPAP/CPAP management, oral suctioning, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, rapid response/code team participation, wound care/wound vac, telemetry monitoring, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, and surgical drain management

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, and EKG test interpretation
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; no local candidates accepted within this radius
