Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring Epic proficiency, a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, and a valid NC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
  • Patient population is primarily Med/Surg, including observation, respiratory, palliative/end-of-life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes, and surgical patients
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Telemetry-capable unit with dysrhythmia monitoring and management
  • Epic EMR required
  • Floating to any Cone Health campus may be required

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation skills required
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Valid driver's license required to verify address
  • Two professional supervisor references from the past 2 years required for consideration
  • Previous charge RN experience preferred
  • LTAC experience preferred

Additional Information

  • All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding — two attempts are allowed; candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
  • Preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, oral suctioning, blood product administration, peripheral line and PICC line care, feeding tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, wound vac, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, and surgical drain management
  • Orientation includes non-billable unit-based modules averaging 2–4 hours
  • Any requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; no post-submission RTO will be accepted
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
