We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MS/Tele Registered Nurse to join our team in Lafayette, LA. This is a contract position in a dynamic healthcare environment, where you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in the Med Surg and Telemetry units.

Please ensure you are aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team," where there will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event were to occur. You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above.

Holiday Availability: Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require traveler coverage. Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation.

Unit Info: The unit will accommodate 1st timers that have 2 years of experience. Patient Diagnoses include chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, PNA, HTN, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope. There is always potential for med-surg overflow (e.g., GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, COVID+).

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Pre/post cath lab, PPM/AICD, ablations, vascular surgeries (CEAs, fem-pops), titration of drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, heparin); sheath pulling at bedside. Every other holiday can be pulled to all other inpatient units. Unable to guarantee any specific scheduling requests (e.g., block scheduling).

Special Equipment: Telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, wound vacs.

• BLS
• Telemetry
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• On unit monitoring
• CABG
• Chest tubes
• Post angiogram, MI, cardiac cath, and sheath removal
• Port accessing
• Blood product administration
• Central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
• Starting IVs
• Titrate cardiac drips
• Titrate vasoactive drips
• Isolation precautions
• Wound care/management
