• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:30)
• Schedule Options: 3x12s or 4x12s
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Patient Ratio: Typically 1:7
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Holiday Requirement: Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg, Telemetry, or relevant acute care nursing experience
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR charting required
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Comfort working in a high-acuity medical-surgical telemetry environment with a 1:7 patient ratio
• Ability to work every other weekend, float as needed, and participate in holiday coverage
• Prepared to complete required pre-start testing, onboarding, and modules

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled post-operative nursing care for orthopedic, spinal, bariatric, colorectal, and trauma patients
• Monitor telemetry patients and identify changes in cardiac rhythm, vital signs, and overall condition
• Manage medical-surgical overflow patients as census allows
• Administer medications, complete patient assessments, and support individualized recovery plans of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, and rapid response resources
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient inpatient nursing care in a busy acute care setting
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols, quality standards, and compliance guidelines
