Experienced Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Chesapeake, Virginia. Join a supportive Coastal Virginia healthcare team and provide high-quality care for post-operative and trauma patients in a fast-paced medical-surgical telemetry unit.

• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Schedule Options: 3x12 or 4x12 schedules
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 28, 2026
• Unit Setting: Med/Surg Telemetry, post-op and trauma care
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend/Holiday Expectation: Every other weekend, floating, and selected holidays required

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry nursing experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Proficiency with Epic charting required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Strong telemetry rhythm interpretation skills and comfort with EKG testing prior to start
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity med/surg or telemetry setting
• Comfortable working with a typical patient ratio of 1:7
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and floating assignments as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality RN care for post-operative orthopedic, bariatric, colorectal, spinal, and trauma patients
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Support medical-surgical overflow patients as census permits
• Perform focused assessments, administer medications, and coordinate patient care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain clear communication throughout the shift
• Assist with common Med/Surg interventions including IV therapy, oxygen administration, wound care, drains, and telemetry monitoring
• Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach in a fast-paced acute care environment
