The unit serves medically stable adult and geriatric patients with medical-surgical, observation, respiratory, and telemetry-adjacent needs, offering strong interdisciplinary support and valuable clinical experience.

• Floating: May float within the health system as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to pass a compliance EKG exam during onboarding
• Experience with patient ratios of approximately 5-6 preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• RTO must be submitted with the application

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care for adult and geriatric Med/Surg and observation patients
• Monitor patients with respiratory conditions, diabetes, surgical recovery needs, and palliative or hospice-related needs
• Care for telemetry patients and support EKG-based monitoring workflows
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and ordered treatments within RN scope of practice
• Perform routine assessments, vital signs, and reassessments according to unit protocols
• Support oxygen therapy, wound care, drains, and other common med/surg interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, PT, and rapid response resources
• Float to other campuses or units as needed to meet patient care needs
