Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a compact or Ohio RN license and prior Epic charting experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Common cases include burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
• Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the health system required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills such as tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac drip management required
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a med/surg telemetry population with complex surgical and medical needs
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Fingerprinting must be completed promptly after contract signing due to Ohio state requirements
• Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location soon after booking
• Candidates far from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration and limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments only after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
