Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology/Telemetry position requiring 2 years of current acute care experience and OH or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Med/Surg Oncology/Telemetry unit within a cancer hospital setting
• Cares for adult and geriatric patients across all solid tumor cancer types including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancer
• Supports patients from new diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life transition
• Staffing ratio goal of 1:4, up to 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Variable weekend requirements based on unit needs
• No set or blocked scheduling available
• Floating required to other MedSurg Oncology units
• Uses Epic charting system
• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ONS Chemo certification preferred
• 2 years of current acute care experience required, within the last 12 months and in the applicable specialty
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, central line blood draws, blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience accessing and managing ports and administering chemotherapy preferred
• Tracheostomy care/management skills preferred
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director-level leader; charge RN acceptable for the second reference; no coworker references accepted

• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
