Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• 48-hour work weeks approved
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating between units and sister facilities required based on skill set
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and wound care
• May float to other units or sister facilities within the health system based on skill set and staffing needs
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Any color scrubs accepted for this unit
• No parking fees at this facility
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers will be screened for consideration
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius unless applying under local candidate terms
