Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a day-shift acute care hospital assignment requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Acute care Magnet hospital setting on a 31-bed MS/Tele unit within a 222-bed facility
• Specializes in surgical patients following the ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) protocol
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45 to 19:15
• Every other weekend required, equating to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating required within scope to other MS/Tele floors and between two facility campuses
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required
• First-time travelers considered only with at least 3 years of MS/Tele experience
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric, pre/post neurosurgery, orthopedics, and total joint replacement patients
• Post-surgical and orthopedic skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to surgical patients under the ERAS order set and protocol
• Navy blue scrub color required
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Standard travelers residing outside a 75-mile radius may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the health system as a traveler
• No parking cost for staff
