Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a WI or compact license and successful completion of a telemetry competency exam prior to start.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit at an academic teaching facility
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) on a 3x12 schedule with variable days
• Every other weekend required (Friday - Sunday)
• Some holiday coverage may be required based on operational need
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
• Epic EMR experience required, with experience within the past 12 months preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to clearance to start, including adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation with strict passing criteria

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Manage respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Care for patients with gastrointestinal, genitourinary/renal, and neurological/psychiatric conditions
• Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Perform wound care and wound vac management under isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Travel experience not required, making this position open to first-time travelers
