Join a leading acute-care hospital in Omaha, NE, as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse. This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled RNs looking for a contract position in a dynamic healthcare environment. The facility is known for its commitment to patient care and offers a supportive atmosphere for healthcare professionals.

The Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit (6/7 Lied) consists of 20 beds and serves a diverse patient population, including those recovering from total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, and various medical conditions such as pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses. The unit is split across floors, with the 7th floor focusing on M/S patients with behavioral health conditions that may be flagged as violent. Safety and de-escalation training will be provided for travelers.

As a Med Surg/Telemetry RN, you will be expected to float frequently to meet staffing needs across various units, including 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU. The nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with potential for 1:7 at night under rare circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Med Surg/Telemetry unit.
• Be prepared to float to various units as needed to meet patient care demands.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including drips.
• Utilize EPIC charting for patient documentation.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including CNAs, care techs, and transport teams.

Requirements:

• Active RN license with 2 years of prior experience in a large urban hospital.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CPI preferred.
• Experience with behavioral health patient populations is essential.
• Must be comfortable floating to meet facility needs, including potential floating to the Bellevue campus.
• Pending licenses accepted, but must have the license in hand at the time of submission.

Additional details include:

• Weekends: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.
• RTO restrictions: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted, submitted with application.
• Travelers are required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Scrubs: Mandatory - Steele gray scrubs with the facility logo.
• Parking: Monthly permits available or daily rate parking options.
