Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring SC or Compact RN licensure and Epic charting experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting on the MS/Tele unit
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Night shift, 4x12s, 7p-7a, with openness to 48-hour weeks
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rare on-call requirement limited to the first 4 hours if activated
  • Floating within scope required to like units or sister facilities as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Scrub color is royal blue

Requirements

  • Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
  • Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
  • Valid driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care for cardiac telemetry and medical-surgical patients, including monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
  • Additional clinical exposure may include wound care, pacemaker management, pre/post cardiac catheterization and surgery care, and substance withdrawal management
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
  • Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates are considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local
  • All employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
